Fondato nel 1996 dal poeta e artista Kenneth Goldsmith, UbuWeb funge da archivio dei più vitali e oscuri movimenti d’avanguardia: dal Novecento ai giorni nostri. I materiali – testi, film, contributi musicali, poesie sonore – sono messi gratuitamente a disposizione di semplici utenti e, sempre più spesso, di ricercatori e studiosi. L’archivio dei film e video contiene molte rarità: film strutturali, avanguardie storiche, New American Cinema, esempi di cinema indipendente, video d’artista.

These materials – texts, films, musical pieces, sound poems – are made available free of charge to simple users and, increasingly, to researchers and scholars.
